We are particularly proud of our Yarn Gassing, a technique for which Toyotashigyo possesses truly unique expertise unmatched anywhere in the world.
Through this process, every fiber is singed evenly in all 360 degrees by flame, removing excess fuzz and creating a yarn that is exceptionally smooth and lustrous. This gives the material a distinctive, value-added finish that enhances the quality of any product made from it.
Yarn Gassing requires remarkable precision and experience. If the flame is too strong, the yarn becomes oversinged and may scorch or break. If the flame is too weak, the fuzz remains. Achieving the perfect balance—adjusting both the intensity of the flame and the speed of threading according to the characteristics of each yarn—demands highly skilled craftsmanship.

YARN
It is so profound that it cannot be summed up in one word, ``thread.'' There are countless types of cotton yarn, depending on the region of production and variety. Furthermore, even if they are from the same production area or variety, there may be differences unique to natural fibers.
At Toyota Yasugyo, we sometimes use the analogy of rice to explain things in an easy-to-understand manner.
The taste of rice also varies greatly depending on the producer, region, and year.
Similarly, threads made from natural fibers change their appearance depending on the time.
Since I work with yarn every day, I sometimes notice slight differences in the yarn.
